General Motors stated this week that they will be closing down their SUV plant located in Janesville, Wisconsin. The plant will be officially closed by the end of this year thanks to the poor sales of the one popular selling cars on the market.
The plant was used to produce the Chevy Suburban and the GMC Yukon and has 1,200 UAW employees working for them. GM’s original plans was to close the plant down in 2010 - but the market has deteriorated faster then what they had planned. They will also be closing down the SUV plant in Moraine, Ohio.

Rumors are flying around that Volkswagen has chosen not to sell the brand new Mk VI Golf in Autralia, Brazil, and the United States. The company has been experiencing financial problems and is looking to sell it only where they will make enough profit from the car.
It is sad to hear because the Golf is VW’s second highest selling car next to the Jetta and many of us are wondering what will become of the line if there is to be no new addition to the line-up. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out.
