GM To Close SUV Plants Earlier Then Expected

General Motors stated this week that they will be closing down their SUV plant located in Janesville, Wisconsin. The plant will be officially closed by the end of this year thanks to the poor sales of the one popular selling cars on the market.

The plant was used to produce the Chevy Suburban and the GMC Yukon and has 1,200 UAW employees working for them. GM’s original plans was to close the plant down in 2010 - but the market has deteriorated faster then what they had planned. They will also be closing down the SUV plant in Moraine, Ohio.

Subaru Reveals Diesel Engine For Impreza And Forester

Subaru revealed the new 2.0 liter diesel Boxer engine earlier in the year inside both the Outback and the Legacy. Very soon it will be offered in the Impreza and Forester - but only to those in the UK. The two new models will feature the unusual horizontally opposed oil-burning engines - which will be revealed during the Paris Motor Show in October.

Kesselman Mazda CX-7

The Moscow Motor Show was like any other motor show in the fact that we were able to catch glimpses of some new models that we have heard about and have been waiting all year for. We have a list of cars that we will be sharing pictures and details about - but the one we want to start with is the Kesselman Mazda CX-7.

2009 Honda Fit

The Honda did a great job with the last generation Fit and was able to appeal to many consumers. They have put even more work into the new model by giving it a stronger version of the 4 cylinder 1.5 liter engine.

GM Cancels 2009 Style Event

General Motors decided that the 2009 GM Style Event will be cancelled so that they will be able to save themselves close to $15 billion by 2009. The event has been a big hit over the past couple years due to the attendance of popular stars like Jeff Gordon, Carmen Electra, and also well known fashion designers.

Saleen’s SMS Limited Gives Info For New 296 Supercharger Systems

Steve Saleen has revealed his new company the SMS Limited and gave us an inside look at what their new product would be - the 296 Supercharger system for the 5.7 liter and 6.1 liter Hemi V8 engines.

The system features a massive 2955 cc of displacement as well as an internal intercooler, eight-rib pulley, by-pass valve, high-volume heat exchanger and more. The kit can increase horsepower by as much as 45%, all while fitting neatly underneath the stock hood. Follow the jump to see a full list of features and check out the gallery below.

Jeep J8 Not Available To Civilians

The Jeep J8 is a heavy-duty military specification Wrangler that has the ability to drive in the middle of a sandstorm for over five hours and through water that is 30 inches deep. The production version for the J8 will make its official debut during the Euro Jeep Camp 2008. However, there is some disappointing news that will come with this unveiling. Jeep has no plans to offer the J8 to civilians.

Oops …VW Gold Mk VI IS Coming To U.S.

We reported (and told) that Martin Winterkorn – from the European division of VW would not be able to sell the brand new 2009 Golf Mk VI in the United States. We are happy to say that this is not true. Steve Keys – from the American division stated that there will be a Stateside production and it will be introduced this fall.

Rumor: VW Mk Golf VI Not To Be Sold In U.S.

Rumors are flying around that Volkswagen has chosen not to sell the brand new Mk VI Golf in Autralia, Brazil, and the United States. The company has been experiencing financial problems and is looking to sell it only where they will make enough profit from the car.

It is sad to hear because the Golf is VW’s second highest selling car next to the Jetta and many of us are wondering what will become of the line if there is to be no new addition to the line-up. It will be interesting to see how it all turns out.

GM Considering Selling Hummer To China

When the Hummer was first introduced consumers fell in love with it at once despite its bulky design and the amount it needed to fill it up with gas. Now however consumers have a different point of view on it and are starting to forget the love they once had for it and are trying desperately to get rid of it. Those who never got the opportunity to purchase one before no longer want to have one.
