Subaru Reveals Diesel Engine For Impreza And Forester

Subaru revealed the new 2.0 liter diesel Boxer engine earlier in the year inside both the Outback and the Legacy. Very soon it will be offered in the Impreza and Forester - but only to those in the UK. The two new models will feature the unusual horizontally opposed oil-burning engines - which will be revealed during the Paris Motor Show in October.

The Forester 2.0 diesel will be able to push out 147 horsepower and 258 pound-foot while giving off 44.8 mpg combined in the European cycle. This is class-leading for a smaller sized CUV in Europe.

The Impreza 2.0 diesel will be able to push out 148 horsepower and 258 pound-foot. However, there was no information released on the fuel economy for this particular vehicle. The diesel Forester will hit showrooms later this month - but the Impreza will not be revealed until January.
